(In which the mariners remain stranded on Islay, make use of the showers and watch football yet again)
After our late night we both slept until 10am. As predicted, the winds continued to batter the marina, and intermittent showers made even a walk or a bus trip uninviting prospects.  Another good day for reading, knitting, the DT crossword  (we did make it as far as the Spar to buy the paper), and a plan to visit the facilities of the White Hart Hotel for the shower and evening meal.  We set off at 1930, and had good hot shower/bath and settled down by a large log fire in the hotel for our supper, while England just edged ahead of Sweden (one token Swedish couple in the bar) on TV.  The meal was of mixed quality.  My Hebridean Chicken, stuffed with haggis and black pudding, was excellent, but the scallops were under-flavoured and over-cooked, while Cate's langoustine tasted mostly of water.  (Three rather dour Yorkshire sailors from Emma Louise shared our table.  They were planning to leave for Oban on the next day and I don't think they believed my account of forecast 30k winds on WindGuru, but I note as I write this the following day that they clearly thought better of it, as they are still here!)  At the end of the evening we did eventually get a WiFi connection in the lounge by getting  the hotel reception to reset their router, so we finished the evening with an email catchup, resisted the lure of the whisky pub, and returned home to Vega, leaning into the F7 wind and slight rain, to a relatively early night.
