A hot, sticky night and a hot, sticky day. jenny has been suffering from
prickly heat rash for about the last two weeks. In Buea she got some
treatment from the Presbyterian Synod Office clinic and it is giving her some
relief, but she was so hot last night she went for a dip in the pool in the
middle of the night, just to cool down.
We walked into Limbe today, got some cash, did a bit of shopping and
generally became exhausted from the heat. Just before lunch, Andrew and
Claudia showed up so we all went back to Chella's for a long relaxed lunch with
a group of the Oasis guys. We then went on a visit to the Wildlife Centre
which is associated with the Afie Drill ranch where we stayed in
Nigeria. Although this is also a primates rehabilitation centre, it
was pitiful to see the animals crammed into small, stark compounds, compared
with the beautiful natural rain forest compounds at Afie Mountain.
It has been a dull day all day long, which has kept temperatures down but
humidity is very high so it feels awful. With no sun, we haven't been able
to use the solar panel so are now running the engine to charge the fridge
battery.
