Our crew-member Doug, who is also a sailing instructor tells his students that sailing is about doing and undoing. You put in a reef, then 30 minutes later the wind changes and you take it out. You head up, than are forced to turn downwind, you trim the sails in then discover they really need to be eased. Such is the nature of sailing.
With the tough upwind sailing of the past days and weeks we have had a lot of doing and undoing. But we are making steady progress. Today several of us broke out our sweaters and jackets for the first time.
