Sailing Joia

The big winds and seas have moderated and we have exchanged the rarely used orange storm jib for our regular working jib and main. Instead of being bashed by 20-30 knot winds, we now have a steady 15 knot breeze which is perfect for JOIA to gallop along at 8 knots.
There was a little damage from the stormy weather: the AC circuits went out because of a current leak. We unplugged all the appliances then suspected the “kettle and toaster” socket in the galley since it had become damp from a hatch that was not properly closed. We removed the socket, took it apart, rinsed it in fresh water then dried with a hair dryer. Now all working again.
