We had strong winds yesterday and at dusk, just as we were reducing the size of the jib for the night, the furling line parted.
We spent a rough night in 17-24 knot winds with more sail up than we would like going upwind. But we got through it and this morning we were able to splice in a length of Dyneema rope that we carried on board as a spare.
Now we are all under control (the photo shows new line and partially furled jib) and all exhausted. We are looking forward to a stir-fry dinner fresh Bonito fish (a type of tuna) that Doug caught a couple of days ago.
