Mark Twain said “Do put all your eggs in one basket - but watch that basket”.
With sails being are only means of propulsion for long distances, we need to take care of our one mast. Yesterday we noticed that one of the shrouds in the middle third of the mast had become loose on the leeward side. Someone needed to go up and tighten the turnbuckle 30 feet in the air, swinging above the waves. Doug volunteered and got it done. We will continue to watch the rigging carefully given the pounding it is taking with the long return sail.
