North Atlantic Ocean

A sporty ride today, the wind hardly went below 15 knots, since 2am... gusting 20, with waves to match. Not exactly confortable as we are hard on the wind, trying to get over the last of the bank of clouds with its accompanying lashings of rain, which we also have had all day consistently... We needs to go North but with the wind in the North East, we find ourselves struggling to make the course. We have not had waves coming over in the cockpit for a long time! Yesterday was a doddle in comparison!
Although the wind is still blowing, at least the rain stopped around sunset, the clouds letting in a few bits of blue which gradually got bigger, and tonight the stars are out in force. According to our Weather Gurus, we should be seeing an improvement in the next day or so... think they did say that yesterday too!!! the cloud bank edge must have moved, it is only a forecast after all.
Hoping to get back in the trade winds tomorrow, a bit more reliable and constant, maybe a bit of sunshine would be nice also, and no rain, please so we can sit outside!!!

With the weather as it is, we have been confined to below deck and it is absolutely sweltering, not used to have to stay down below, miss the view... but the perfect day for playing card and reading. Hopefully it will get better by tomorrow.
