Day 25
Indian Ocean
DTD to Richard's Bay SA 16nm

The last couple of hours before you land always seem to stretch for ever! We caught s glimpse of the African coast at day break, around 5am, over 3 hours ago, and we are still making painfully slow progress towards Richards Bay. During the night, we saw no lights on land, except for the Cape St Lucia's lighthouse, and the shipping traffic kept us entertained a good chunk of our watch. The sun struggled to peak through the cloud cover and we had greyness all around us at dawn. We finally made out the mountains, it looked shrouded in mist, the slopes covered with trees with bare patches of clay coloured earth. We had a fairly good day yesterday, with patches and good wind and some long periods of motoring. The aim is to beat the blow which is scheduled later today. The wind died ages ago, and we have been motoring quite slowly down the coast to Richards Bay. Plenty time to admire the coast. In front we have a massive rain cloud, behind we have a massive rain cloud and us in the middle, in a ray of sunshine.... how is that for a lucky, lucky strike!
Hopefully this ray of sunshine will be following us all the way to the pontoon!
