Friday 28 May. Left Lillesand at midday for a
lovely gentle sail to windward under main and jib in SSW F3 winds. Took a
diversion to look at Blindleia, where some of the richest families have their
huts, well more like mansions with their own marinas. 29 miles to Kristiansand, arrived at
6pm, just as the Brian Adams concert was being set up around 200 metres from
the guest harbour. The summer visitors pontoon was not installed and the
depth in the marina was only 1.9 metres, so moored to a buoy just off the
marina.
Sat 29 May. Sam away by coach to Torp, welcome
cousin Mick and Steve. 4pm set sail for Mandal, the most southern town in Norway.
Noticed a small rip in the leech of the jib and then another higher up, hard to
spot, so no idea how long they had been there, so rolled it away and continued
on the main. Moored up alongside at 9pm in Mandal guest harbour. Very
quiet. Took down jib to inspect, decided to press on for Stavanger on main alone and find a sailmaker
to repair.
