Thursday happenings…….. Ø Neil

the repaired sails from Hommersåk Ø Late
night drink and deep sea oil drilling discussion with Ray Ø We
put the world and BP in particular to rights Ø Ray
is working in the oil industry and cruising with his family on his Oyster 485 Friday 11 june Ø Left
Stavanger at midday and motored 28mls upwind in 25 knts – arrived 5pm Ø Just
fitted under a 22m bridge in the middle of Haugesund – 1.5m clearance ! Ø Berthed
on the main quay in this lovely old town – we can almost taste the
herring Ø Set
off to find Monica and Tom Eric – they live only 5 mins walk from the
quay - with a view of the water ! wow Ø We
find that it’s a full family weekend with Randi and Lasse and families
over from Tonsberg as well Ø So
the second family reunion in the space of 4 weeks – who is following who around
? Ø We
are treated to a full meal in their amazing house for a second night of partying Ø Get
back to the boat at 12.30 and finish the night off with another chat with Ray
on JD – to bed at 2am Ø Yes
– Ray followed us here as well ! Saturday 12 june Ø Up
late at 10am – fuel in 35 knts – not my best manoeuvre …….and
a bit of route planning after a few emails Ø Off
to meet the Haugesund Stray family – and to taste Turids amazing dessert
cake – yes I have the recipe Ø Next
the boys are meeting up to see the Ø We
