Bitter sweet

At 2325 the anchor was lowered and held outside the Marina Las Palmas and
the sun set on our delivery sail from Kinsale to Las Palmas. It was a bitter
sweet moment for the whole crew. By day 2 we were a unit, a team,
anticipating each other's needs and learning each other's gifts and
challenges. None of us wanted to let go of the tortoise pace or of the
genial conversations at dinner and on night watch. On this final night, we
sat on deck for many hours, communing with each other over hot chocolate and
rum, revelling in some of the special and funny moments since we set sail 10
long days ago.
We are grateful for this particular crew with their singular talents and
look forward to many more inimitable crews in the future as Irene IV
sprinkles her magic dust on all who grace her cabins.
