Mesanak Island to Nongsa Point Marina

We left
Mesanak at dawn. The plan was to go up
through the Riau Islands to Batam (our last stop in Indonesia). The squalls and rain are on going now so it
was another sail/motor/get soaked and repeat. We anchored for one night on the way and arrived at Nongsa Point Marina on Batam late afternoon.
Nongsa
Point is a large resort complex on the Island of Batam and there is a fast
ferry which goes backwards and forwards to Singapore. Staying in the Marina allowed us use of the
resort’s facilities which included a very nice swimming pool, so after all the
early mornings and long frustrating sails with the regular battering from
squalls it was a really nice break. We
had a couple of very good meals in the Hotel and enjoyed the pool.
