It is definitely time to re-instate this blog as the last entry was 2011!!!
Since then we have clocked up a lot of sailing miles and visited many
islands in the Caribbean, it has'nt all been sailing - our sporting
achievements over the last 2 years have included 2 Sprint Triathlons
(Syd got a 1st in Aruba), we competed and completed a 87km mountain bike race (part of an endurance
series) in Curacao, 2 x 1sts Half Marathons for Lisa. We have had our
highs and lows, big low our lovely mountain bikes were stolen in Aruba,
but on the whole during the last 2 years we have visited some great
places and got to meet some brilliant people. The last 9 months have
been spent in Panama (mostly Atlantic side) with a 3 week trip (minus
Gaviota) to Mexico and Belize, we transitted
the infamous Panama Canal on 31st October and have spent the last 7
weeks getting the boat prepared for the next leg of the journey. We are
currently anchored off Panama City and have the amazing skyscraper
backdrop as our view. We have endured the Panama wet season - all 7
months of it and boy can it rain here! Now the dry season has began and
temperatures are 35 degrees C most days with high humidity but we have
got very used to the heat and are definitely going to feel the cold on
the next part of our journey. Watch this space . . . . .
