Some photo's of our 4 weeks at sea crossing the 3200nm from the Galapagos to the Tuamotu Islands. Mahi Mahi - we caught 4 this day which fed us for a few weeks. Some speccy sunsets and sunrises Couldn't see the pot at the end of this rainbow even though it was very close. Moon with 2 planets beneath it just on dawn. Movement of the boat gave it the Zzz shape. Being on watch at sunrise has it's benefits. The crest of a white cap shows the aqua colour of the water Where the water breaks or the boat hits the waves, air bubbles turn the water turquoise in patches. Squid & flying fish land on the deck during the night, particularly when the seas were a bit lumpy and the wind was blowing. We would occasionally find them after a few days, led by the smell! We found this little guy too late - he was sun dried Our indoor aquarium with flying fish - the leaky escape hatch in the floor of the saloon. Surfing down a wave. Some days the waves were up to 3m+ high, other days were very calm seas. John, Miss Kitty & Nigel. Our evening game of sequence. The boys changed to red tokens shortly after this in an attempt to reverse their losing streak. It has worked to some extent. |
