Rallying to Moorea...

We are now on the Island of Moorea - just West of
Tahiti. We joined in with the Tahiti-Moorea Sailing Rendez-Vous Rally over the
weekend and had a really great time.
Needless to say, we haven't lost our racing skills
and managed to come in 24th out of 29... In our defence, "it was a Rally and not
a Race" and Line Honours were taken by a 55' Catamaran who 'only' beat
us by a mere 64 minutes over the 20 miles....
However, we did manage to save face by winning the
"Coconut Peeling" competition yesterday although we only came 2nd in the "Banana
Carrying" Relay race. All good fun and lots of Cocktails courtesy of the
Tahitian Tourist Board.
We will probably stay here for a little while
just relaxing and enjoying the sunshine. We managed to replace the steering
cable last week, regassed the fridge and installed new batteries so, hopefully,
no more Boat jobs for a while.... fingers crossed !!
