Good speed all night in the big waves, lots breaking over the boat. Last night lots of rain and lightening all around. Average speed 1st 24 hours was 6.9 knots. 1095nm to go.

With all the rain last night went to put on my foul weather jacket, 1st time since last October, the zip would not engage to do up. Could not spend too long trying to sort out as going on watch, had to revert to back up jacket that is a smock type thing. This afternoon in daylight sorted zip having scrapped a tiny bit of corrosion from the spring plunger thing in it.

Last night cooking made a bit of a mess as when pouring balti from pan to dishes on a heel we then slammed a wave and jolted pan forward so went over lid of cool box right over door edge and the lifting catch. 1st night lots of mess, not nice. The Azorean cheese we had was very tasty and has a bight like matture cheddar, we have another 3 nights of that one before next random cheese choice.

Sun has been out a couple of hours and the batteries are at full charge, which I did not think would happen 1st thing today.

Dinner this evening, hopefully all in the bowls will be Irish stew, mixed veg, cheese, sliced bread and then fruit cocktail in juice for desert.
