Time in Port Zante not too bad, except for Sunday when everything is closed and no traffic on the roads, very quiet. In the morning you could here people at church and a trumpet playing. The evening all the restuarants we were aware of were closed. We did find one dodgy chinese. Tables looked like they could be cleaned a bit more and the menus were very tatty and we were the only patrons. Food was not too bad but not exceptional. When we initially arived at Port Zante we were the only boat at anchor about 200m from the marina entrance. The beach was dirty looking black sand and the buildings behind looked a bit run down, therefore thought not a good place to anchor although we were well bedded in, that was why we took the outside wall that did make getting ashore and using the facilities a lot easier. Saturday there were 8 boats at anchor and looked very busy, if like that when we arrived probably would not have taken marina wall.

Cruise ships have a pier otherside of marina and there is a big shopping area with duty free stuff, jewellery, electrinics, booze, bright clothing and tack. There are also a lot of peddlars of trips around the island, all must be controlled as they all wore lime green polo shirts. There are also a couple of bars and a few food shacks. On the upper levels there were a variety of restuarants. No cruise ship in on Sunday so all closed. This morning there were 2 in, Britannia and Rotterdam.

Checking out work fine especially as a new system came online today for Immigration and the officer doing it was apologetic at being a little slow as we were the 1st boat she had done.

We are not expecting a fast trip to Road Town, Tortola as wind is very light from behind and expecting to get less, 0-2 knots for 4-5 hours. If windy would have taken 22 hours to do the 130nm, we are expecting to do it in about 36 hours using the engine for 24 of those.

Dinner later wil be blanquette de veau, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoe, sliced bread then ananas en morceaux au jus d'ananas (pineapple chunks in juice, I think).
