Today has been a day of filling up the boat with all stuff we removed for racing.

This morning the dinghy was deflated, dried and rolled and stowed at te back of the cabin that has all the sails. The outboard was also secured in the same cabin and all the sails put back.

Mid-morning all the equipment’s etc put in storage was brought back to us. The sea anchor, storm sails, empty jerry cans, water containers and tinned food. 3 of the 4 boxes had exploded cans in and smelt bad. Those 3 boxes emptied and washed the cans and disposed of leaking ones, about 20. Some are very rusty but am taking the risk they will survive intact until we eat them which should be in the next 10 days. We will need to add about 10 days of food when we can get to a supermarket.

Putting all the stuff back on has made the boat very tail heavy, noticeably by looking at the transom and the engine exhaust just kissing the water. It is normally 2-3 inches above the water.

Chris and Colston this morning went for their last swim in the sea and left us about 1400 to get a taxi to the airport.

We shall be sailing up to Jolly Harbour tomorrow and do the final checks before our return Atlantic crossing.
