>From clearing the net it took a little over 24 hours to get back to Antigua. Sailed all but the last 5 miles when wind died. We passed some a couple of maxis trying to finish in the zephyrs of wind managing about a knot. We understand that one boat took 3 hours to do the last mile to the finish line. We were met back at the dock with a crate of very cold Carib beer. After a beer a clean and tidy up then put boat back into comfort mode for the marina.
There are still 2 IRC Class 2 yachts racing , one 5 miles out the other 50. We suspect if we were still racing would have been between the pair of them. Looks like all Class 2 boat will finish on Saturday, a very slow race overall.
Last night we went to the Prize Giving party. I believe Class 2 will get their own prize giving this evening without the band and all the speaches. All boats that take part get presented with a personalised bottle of 5 Year Old English Harbour Rum. How do you make rum punch?
Tomorrow we will get an extra crew member as Emma is arriving in the afternoon. Plan is to hire a car to pick her up the go to the supermarket to victual for her, I'm told, picky eating options as corned beef hash apparently is not acceptable and this is the only meal we have onboard.
Monday we leave for Sint Maarten and the Hieneken Regatta. It will be an overnight passage. With extra crew we should get extra sleep.
