Biscay

We are now about half way across Biscay, with easterlies 20/25 knots. The
sea is grey and with a large swell knocking the boat around, the auto pilot
is working hard, Looking forward to exiting Biscay tomorrow.

Spirits are high on board and we ran 2 hour watches last night, which seemed
to work. However, there is a lot of shipping around us meaning we have to
keep a sharp lookout. With help from the new electronics.

A message from the forepeak

Dolphins kept us occupied for quite some time yesterday and today we are
preoccupied with ironing our shirts and getting ready for Black tie drinks
tonight, if anyone's keen the middle of Biscay is the where 2011 starts (due
to the number of guests please byo)! Some degree of personal hygiene is now
becoming more important, at least one crew member has now located a
toothbrush! Our Skipper took to heart the afore mentioned dilemma of
arriving too soon and decided to do a few circles in the night, indeed there
may be some confusion as to the precise location of the Canary Islands - in
a breathtaking process of trial and mostly error, North was ruled out at
03:00hrs! As you will appreciate we are all most grateful for this
innovative solution. Back on course we fly long at a heart warming 8knts.
