18 hours out

Truantofsark
Thu 30 Dec 2010 13:30
We are about 20 miles from Brest, after a very foggy start. We have made
very good progress, mostly travelling at 8 knots plus. The plan is to turn
into Biscay later this afternoon which is ahead of schedule!
Truant is going well, some problems; a Fresh water leak on a new fitting
forward and we have just had water in one of the forward cabins from the new
swan neck deck fitting for the electrical conduit from the mast. Tom and
Julius made a heroic, if somewhat rural, effort to re-bed the fitting, time
will tell. All Crew fine except the skipper who seems the most seasick!

High spirits reign in the cockpit of Truant mainly due to the quantity and
not necessarily quality of food being consumed! I think we may have over
ordered on the vegetables.. We are arranging a sweep stake for the arrival
time and hour, a pound for entry and due to a disappointing number of vermin
we wonder if a fish on your watch could count?

This is also a record braking day, 200 miles in a 24hr a period! We will
soon arrive before we have left -the Skipper is calculating the best way to
avoid this dilemma.
