What great excitement today. Reece's perseverance finally paid off. He has caught his first fish, a 7,5kg Mahi Mahi. We quickly leapt into action, I grabbed the rum, Dave furled the genoa Reece leapt for the rod. After a stupendous fight lasting several hours he finally brought the fish to the side of the boat. By this time we had turned up to wind to slow the boat. Dave assisting, Reece brought the beauty aboard.

Within minutes the gaffed fish was aboard, Dave cleaned, gutted and descaled it (on a rubber mat of course) With fillets in fridge Tony, todays chef has had to make a rapid change to todays dinner menu. WELL DONE REECE!!

Today has been Reece's day. He went up the forstay to rove anti-chafing kevlar around the genoa sheets. wrote up his new persoanal logbook and now the fish-and its not even midday yet.

Looking at our position in the fleet as updated by ARC Rally Control, we are not looking too shabby. If the weather predictions happen we will be down at about 20N when the SW front comes through, in lighter winds. Much more comfortable. Where are the NE trades??
