Dear Diary...

It's always difficult to right a blog entry on a day like today... It would all just be so repetitive. The night watches were spent trying to get to grips with our still very difficult wind situation, whilst looking out to make sure we didn't run into any objects that might just be swimming, floating or sinking in our way. Oh wait there was one strange occurence last night.

Last night Shaya Moya had "contact", well we saw it from a distance, with a UFO ( Unidentified Floating Object). The Object did not show up on either the radar or the AIS system. We also couldn't work out if it was a big thing far away or a little thing close by. Either way I spent most of my watch trying to determine its/their intentions with no success untill it/they dissappeared. Since then we've seen no other vessels.

The night was again too short with frantic rigging going on in the early hours to get the cruising chute up until the Skipper decided my work was in vain because the Wind/We/The World had changed direction and was no longer facing the right way. David then appeared from below and he and the Skipper devised some sound racing tactics to get us ahead of the pack, whilst still insisting " It's not a race, it's a rally."

Jane has been our chef of the day and breakfast was great, the dinner menu has been changed last minute because... yes you guessed it, we caught another fish. We also made the mistake of weighing this one, so we have to appologize to all of you for the slight exaggeration on the weight of the last fish. 7.5kg might have been...an estimated.. oh... 3kg to many. Sorry.

The days sailing has been comfortable with reasonable speeds (6.5knots) in very light winds mostly due to a new function we've discovered on the autohelm : Wind Vain Mode. Basically we sit and the boats follows the winds... Great Stuff!!

Well It's dinner time. Shaya Moya Over and Out ( Radio Talk for Goodbye)
