We are currently anchored back at Nanuya Boat House - Blue Lagoon which as you have probably guessed by now is a bit of a favourite and is certainly a great anchorage especially when it gets a bit windy which seems to be quite often this season.

Lynda and a rather generous glass of wine

We have had a visit from our good friend Leapy Lynda from the 5th – 16th September.  She arrived VERY early on Monday morning (5th Sept) at Denarau Marina and after some last minute provisioning and shopping we headed off on our tour of the Manamuca and Yasawa Islands on Tuesday morning.  Our first stop was at Malolo Reef for some swimming and snorkelling and then into Musket Cove for a couple of nights which is always a must.  We even got to enjoy an afternoon of R&R by the pool!!

                                                                Musket Cove

Lynda is very much a keen Yoga participant and always on the lookout for a class so we were lucky enough to time our stay at Musket Cove so that we could start our day with one of Leanne’s Yoga sessions.  Leanne, a fellow cruiser, runs ‘Yoga for Yachties’ which is lots of fun and well supported by both yachties and resort goers.  Naturally we had to go and have a coffee and muffin to round out the mornings activities!  Leanne has also been training sessions for the spa ladies working at Nanuya Resort so were able to join in with a couple of their classes as well during her stay.

                                                  After Yoga Coffee & Cake

We headed up to the Liku Liku Resort on Thursday night (after Yoga) and then up to the Manta Ray Pass on Friday.  We were lucky enough to swim with 2 Manta’s in the pass and also had a great snorkel in front of the Manta Ray Resort which is still one of the best snorkelling sites we have located in Fiji so far.  It is also a great spot to enjoy beer and pizzas of an evening.

Beach Bar at Manta Ray Resort

Next stop was to Somo Somo Bay which was new stop over for all so certainly did some exploring which included a jungle walk across to the windward side of the island as well as the obligatory snorkelling expedition.  Even managed to get the kayak out for a paddle.

                                        Jungle Walk at Somo Somo

We had heard on the jungle grapevine that the locals are often keel to sell painted crays and luckily we were not disappointed so we lucky enough to enjoy some Crays on the BBQ for dinner – YUM….

                                                                The Cray we didn’t buy!

After a couple of nights at Somo Somo we headed to Nanuya Resort and are still here.

We enjoyed the highlights of the Blue Lagoon area which included plenty of swimming, snorkelling with Nemo and the walk over to Lo’s Tea House which is always a treat.

Yoga at Nanuya – View was very distracting!!!

                                                                                      Lo’s Tea House

                                                                     Many Snorkelling Expeditions

                                                                                  One of Many Nemo’s

Unfortunately Lynda stay was over way to quickly however, she certainly departed in style by catching the Sea Plane back to Nadi to meet her flight back to Melbourne on the 16th

Apparently she even got to see Manta’s from the plane!!

Have attached plenty of photos from the last couple of weeks – thanks to Lynda for many of them!

We are now back to two again.

As our stocks of fresh food is pretty much zero we decided it would be a great opportunity to get a delivery of fruit and veg from Farm Boys who will arrange delivery to pretty much anywhere where there is a resort which is pretty much everywhere in the Yasawa Islands.  Our delivery was due to arrive on the Yasawa Flyer yesterday however, due to some ambiguous information supplied with our order it ended up getting dropped off about 5NM north at the Blue Lagoon Resort L (very disappointing) however, after many phone calls and discussions one of the long boats was heading down this way with our box of goodies on board J (much happiness) so we are now enjoying all sorts of yummy fresh stuff.

We are now looking forward to venturing up a bit further north on Yasawa Island, especially now that the winds are on the fade, before heading into Vuda for a restock before our last adventure out into the Fiji Islands.  Not sure exactly where we will head off too and will very much depend on the weather at the time but that is also one of the great pleasures of cruising.
