We ended up spending four lovely nights at the Isle of Pines however, some bad weather (the same system that went through the East Coast of Australia causing much destruction) sent us scurrying back up to the big island.

Baie de Kuto – Ils de Pin

We departed from the Ils de Pin on 4th June and head up to the anchorage at Anse Majic where we pulled up a mooring for the night.  Sunday was when the really bad weather was forecast with most of the nasty winds to come from the NE so we headed back to the west side of New Caledonia and anchored for a few nights in Baie Ngo which proved to be an absolute winner.  We had a lot of rain but were certainly well protected from most of the wind.  We did however find that the bay we were in is home to a mining operation and has a bulk carrier parked at the entrance with a couple of tugs and barges for loading the red mud as well as  plenty of trucks digging and hauling dirt so we were certainly well entertained!!.

We stopped in Baie Ngo for a couple of nights waiting for the weather to settle down and arrived back In Noumea on Tuesday.

We decided to hire a car for a few days to help out with the provisioning as well as check out some of the sights around the town.  Our big trip this morning was out towards the airport to do some shopping at the big Carrefour Supermache which was very exciting especially as Mark was having to drive on the wrong side of the road in a manual car with the gear stick also on the wrong side however, we managed a safe journey there and back J

The plan is to head off on Friday to the Loyalty Islands for a couple of weeks and will then be back looking for a weather window to head out to Fiji.

GO BLUES!!!!!
