Hello All

The wandering gypsy has returned.

To get back to the UK from Bora Bora I had to fly to Tahiti to Raratonga to Auckland(NZ) to Tonga to LA to Heathrow it was some journey.I arrived back yesterday afternoon having changed planes from Tongatapu the main island to Vava'u by a small twin engined plane with the door open to the cockpit and everything shook and rattled but it got there just, mind you its the first time that I have been weighed before boarding the aircraft just because they had a problem with the takeoff and it showed.

I did manage to see a bit of every place I stopped at not as much as the boaties but then you can't work and sail and expect to see it all but I get quite a flavour for the places we visit. As you know Ellie de-camped to a much faster yacht skippered by a young French man and was amazed at the speed (the yacht not the man) that the boat went ,so now ours is a slow old dog.But I think she learnt a lot sailing just two up .

At the same time Jenny sailed two up with Alan and she is quite remarkable she just gets on with the job and doesn't complain, well not to much she doesn't realise how competent she is sometimes and Alan is very good and always keeps the boat safe and sailing well in fact he does extremely well.

Both boats had some really bad weather with wind speeds up to 40knts and 5 meter seas with a lot of rain in fact at one time it was continuous for 36hrs and lashing down.

Well tomorrow we are off to another anchorage in a little lagoon where there will be some other rally boats to celebrate one of the other skippers birthday and then it is off to Fiji.

That's all for now

Peter
