Hello All

We have just arrived in Karamantan (Borneo) after a pretty windless crossing from Bali,we are about 30nm up the river from the coast at a place called Kumai apart from it being a dry town it is very third worldish and very poor but its what we came to see which is one of the reasons we choose to travel the world this way its certainly not the cost but it certainly is an adventure.

Sitting here on the river its wall to wall jungle coming up here at high tide we were down to 1.3 m under the keel it's masses I know but one of the boats went aground for several hours not pleasant in this monsoon type weather 4" in one hour fell yesterday.

We are going further into the interior tomorrow to see the Orang-utans which is why we are here, the reports so far are very good.We should also see alot of birds ,monkeys and other wild life.

That's all for now expect more when we have seen the big Apes

All aboard Jenny
