Hi all, Alan here

A very late Blog update as we've been anchored in Puerta Ayora for a while but I know you'll forgive us as we're having a good time here.  Having (obviously)survived Neptune's tender welcome to the southern hemisphere we have been getting out and about in this amazing place.  The wildlife is fantastic, iguanas and seals swimming about the boat, boobies[flying ones] with blue feet dive bombing the fish all around, and pelicans skimming over the water looking like prehistoric pterodactyls, and so many multicoloured fish as well.

The animals in most cases seem to ignore our existence, the must know the national park rule " No Molester"  - the meaning obvious!  They are content to sit next to you, last night the iguanas were marching through the restaurant looking for scraps and no one takes a blind bit of notice.

Jenny went snorkelling today and has came back tired but elated at all she saw, and our guided tour doesn't start till tomorrow!! The seals come and look straight at you and swim amongst you, they have such lovely eyes (but awful breath!)  We have to put fenders out on the bathing platform or else we'll have them sunbathing on board - any unattended boat is fair game for squatters it seems, or any quay.I have to say its the first time I've seen pelicans and seals begging for the scraps from gutting activities in the fish market ( a grand name for what is a 3 sided stone worktop!!)

Not much more to report, the cats away so the mice are playing, the cat gets back day after tomorrow but we've left him a few jobs, we wouldn't want him to feel we haven't missed him!!!

bye for now
