Hi everyone.
Still on passage 80 miles from Porvenir which is
where we can clear customs/immigration for Panama. We are all a little
tired but in good spirits, we've had 2 nights which have been
uncomfortable with up to 30 knots and 6 meter swells, but the boat is
quite "dry" and little water has come aboard, so all is well.
We're looking forward to anchoring one night in
Hollandes Cay near Porvenir to relax a little before continuing on to Shelter
Bay, in Port Christobal, where we look forward to Peter and
Jenny returning, and Ellie swells the ranks of "umble crew". Here
we will wait for our transit through to the Pacific.
Nothing eventful to report - little shipping
seen, but we know that this will change dramatically as we approach
Christobal! We had a passenger last night - a large seabird who had been
circling the boat - picking off the flying fish we disturb as we bash through
the waves - with a full stomach he decided to hitch a ride on the boom all
night. I thought to evict him before we got any "messages" on the deck (or
us) but a 3 foot wingspan and 4 inch beak persuaded me to be charitable! A
slight pang of sadness was felt when he left in the
morning.
Anyway back to the "grind"
Alan
