The time is now 14.30 0n the 5/4/08 and we are departing Ua-Pou after avery enjoyable 2 days being entertained by the Mayor and ex school teacher of the village eating marquesian food and being entertained by the people of the village.

When we arrived it was very difficult to get ashore because of the steep rocky beeches and the high jetty and pretty much the only access  was at high water, however last night at dinner we proposed a plan for a rope ladder which was made this morning. We with the crew of Heidenskip put it up and know the access is a little easier.Today was a day of festivities and dancing which was enjoyed by all.

Whilst I was there I mended two pairs of glasses as they only get to Tahiti once every five years to have them repaired,I think we needed to go because they were collecting more pairs for repair and my reputation was growing, mind you the grannies were grateful.

We are now heading for the Tuamotos some 500nm away about 3 days sailing this is the part where everyone is fearful for there boats such is the reputation.
