Hello everybody
We are now in Aruba which is still in the Dutch
Antilles.
Our Passage here was very fast thanks to fair winds
and a 3kt tide going in our direction,if the boat is sailing at a speed of 6kts
through the water and you have a 3kt tide going in the same direction then you
end up making a speed of 9kts.
Aruba seems more prosperous than Bonaire and much
more lively, its good once in a while to change pace a little from the pretty
but sedate anchorages that we have been stopping in.The population here is about
3x that of Bonaire with all the noise and lights but some nice restaurants and
in our marina fees we have access to all of the resort hotel facilities, its like
being in a 5* Hotel but living on a boat.
We are heading home on a plane tomorrow so the blog
will be quiet for a week whilst Alan ,Jon and Bon take the boat on to Panama via
the St.Blas islands a voyage of some 800nm I wish them well with the
weather.
