2 dolphins spotted 4 miles from port
With the arrival of Greg on Tuesday the crew
was complete,Mark skipper,Jan 1st engineer,Mike navigator.
After a dive under the boat for some 40
mins with a paint scrapper the boat now has
a near perfect bum.The prop and rudder were also looking alomost like new
.
After a hunt round the local boat yard looking for
some jerry cans I found one ( not bad) and a call to the sailmakers friend Brian
we found another 4 cans.Bringing in total our fuel level to nearly 500 L
enough diesel for approx 1100 miles.
Lockers were cleaned and junk removed, the engine
was serviced with filters replaced and oil changed.
Then victualling me and mike did the 1st
supermarket trip, where most of the tins were bought loads of corned beef yummy
( not).
24 bottles of water 8 L each enough for 2 L each a
day.
Greg and mike did the last shop bringing in total
our spend to 650 quid (yikes) enough food to last till the middle of next year
or so it seemed.
Then up the chinese buffet for our last meal
thursday night 5,98 euros would you believe with 98 dishes on offer. We
rolled (lol) back down the hill later to the boat.
A few calls were
made to friends and loved ones thurs night/friday morning and it was offski
friday am.
We slippled the lines but one of the lazy lines was
so tight round the cleat we had to pull back into the berth and get screw
drivers and hammers out ( very technical I know) in order to release the
line.
Fuel was purchased bills were settled and it was
goodbye Puerto Rico
Lunch was roasted garlic chicken with roast
potatoes and onions with some green beans cooked as always by my goodself ( its
a boat tradition you know)
Breaking news ........breaking news...........breaking news .........breaking
news.........breaking news............
We just caught our 1st fish a beautiful dorado ,in
the middle of doing the blog excited calls of fish fish both rods went off at
the same time one got off but Jan pulled in our 1st fish to the bathing platform
only to be lost after a tense bathing platform battle between fish and myself to
much panic and excitement.
Not to be foiled I put out another line to get a
strike within 30 secs which was duly dispatched after much flapping about under
a blue cushion he now sits in the fridge folied up and ready to bake with some
dried chilli and garlic.
Hey what did we need to spend that 600 euros on
food for ?
Regards to all
