It was quite a bumpy 8 hour ride motor sailing into the wind and waves to go north to Union Island in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The sections between the islands have strong currents and Atlantic waves so Oliver’s seasickness developed by the time we left the lee of Grenada. Between sleeping for a lot of the time he was sick about 5 times. Lynn went all sleepy as usual and Jenny was marginal as soon as she went below.
However, It was all worthwhile when we anchored just before sunset inside the reef in Clifton looking out across the ocean.
We were too late to check in at customs and immigration so Chris went ashore the next morning and made us legal.
After a look round the tiny village, a bit of shopping and internet and some lunch we made our way to the Happy Island bar (see photos) built on conch shells at the end of the reef .
This convinced us to stay another day but then the weather again decided that we should press on north to Bequia.
