A quiet start on our way to Torrevieja with no wind but with a significant sea swell against us from yesterdays south westerly. A south westerly wind then built during the morning until it was 25 knots and gusting to 30 knots. As we were heading south west this was an uncomfortable ride (for the yacht) and our progress slowed to a crawl which would mean an arrival at about 2000 or later. So we decided at lunchtime to head for the port of Alicante which was an easy sail to the west and we arrived at 1500 for a peaceful night (and showers and washing machines, Wi-Fi, tapas bar, etc.). A short day’s run but still progress …. and we crossed the Greenwich Meridian (Google it!).
