Breakfast on the move with some wind but slow progress. The Gennaker would have been ideal but a bit of a handful for J and L.

Lots of wind shifts and light winds and even with a gybe preventer it was pretty tedious. I held out as long as I could but then gave in to the requests to turn on the engine. We were aiming to meet up with P and F who were going to join us for a few days, and they called from the airport. We found out where their hotel was and so headed off to Sant Elm where we had visited with fond memories a few years ago.

When we got there we were sharing the bay with a lovely big Swan that made Altea seem very small. There was room for us to anchor behind the Iittle Island, almost exactly where we had anchored those years before. J started the anchoring manouvre but then we were buzzed by the weed police. A helpful chap in a dinghy came to tell us we had to anchor in sand rather than the 6 thousand year old weed beds. We were aiming for sand anyway, so it was no hardship and it was good to see they are taking care of such a lovely place.

It was lateish by the time we had got ourselves sorted out, so we ate omelets on board and had an interesting discussion about how to solve the problems of the world. Having reached no clear conclusion we went to bed.
