After seeing the kids off to the airport, and a little weep after they disappear in the taxi we fill up with water and head off. Majorca beckons and we want to find a good jumping off point.

The skies are cloudy as we sail out, and the winds build. The dark skies catch up with us and we are suddenly in 35 kn of wind. Altea shrugs her shoulders and we head up, reef and she takes it in her stride. The only worry is the bimini, so we turn to run downwind and bring it down. Once that is done and we enjoy a fast downwind sail under brooding skies. There is some rain, but it is an enjoyable ride.

When we reach the Cala we confuse the Germans swimming around their yacht in the bay, by doing repeated dummy runs to anchor as J and L have a go at the helm. There are no shoreside bars or eateries and we enjoy a meal on board of tomato soup and quiches that we had bought in San Antonio that morning. To round off the day we watched George Clooney in The Descendants, which was very good.
