A sweaty day of laundry and maintenance, and we managed to get away at about 16:00.
Determined to sail, and so instead of motoring through the night we bore away to Aguadulce, after calibrating the Furuno compass so that it was closer to the B&G.
Stayed at the reception berth, where Altea became the star of the promenade as people strolled past and took pictures. We wondered if all of the night clubs on the quay had gone out of business but of course they were just waiting until midnight 10pm to open.
Aguadulce appears more established than Almerimar, and the beach is attractive. We stumbled into the Mojito beach bar where we overlooked the candle lit beach. Just one drink though as it was v pricy. Much more attractive was the litre of beer and 4 tapas for 8 Euros offer down the street, and after tapas that included lovely fried egg and chips, we toddled off to bed.
The night clubs were not too noisy.
None of these places would have been on a target list of places to stop, but we feel like we are in transit now, with Ibiza as a goal, and they are convenient stopping off points. The coast here is very open to the East and as we have had Easterlies ever since we came to the Straits of Gibraltar, anchoring is a difficult option. Still, each place has its charms and it is enjoyable just to sample a place that we would have otherwise never have seen.
