We STILL have wind!! Fantastic last 24 hour run, at 151 nm. The current period
looks set to beat that too!! Hoooooray………………..22knot
NE winds driving us along like a roll a way train. Reefed goose wing rig and
consistently hitting 8.5knots SOG. Highest recorded speed today was 9.7 knots
SOG during a thunderstorm. Even Hydievane
gave up today. Just could not cope with the big gusts. So my fore arms ache
with all the hand steering. So does the face from all the grinning…………………. WE have been at sea now for 19 days, and Jennie decided to “do”
an inventory of all the provisions, to see what we would need once we
(eventually) arrive in But the star of the show, for ease of storage, longevity and
consistency in colour and taste……………………………………………………(scroll

Yes, it’s the Black stuff! So long as it is stored
well, with plenty of good ventilation and in a horizontal position, it just
goes on and on………………. The water position is also still good with over 400 litres
in the two main tanks and another 100 in emergency reserves. We still have over a quarter of a tank of diesel and 60
litres emergency supply in cans on top of that. So if we do run out of wind on
Sunday, which looks distinctly likely (based on latest GRIB files), we could
motor for all of the last day and arrive around midday Monday 10th December.
We shall have to wait and see. There is a Party on Tuesday and there is NO WAY we
are going to miss out on that one!! I shall
not be planning to do anything for the Wednesday…………………….. |
