We are close hauled and have “ tippy uppy” of around 35 degrees, bashing into a 3 metre Atlantic swell. The jerry cans on the decks have significantly changed the trim of the boat and the motion whilst predictable makes it quite hard to move about the boat. Or type!!

Been sailing all day (last 17 hours) and have at last mastered the Maxsea Weather Routing software. Its just brilliant. Works out the optimum route for your next waypoint, based on a four days weather model, downloaded as a GRIB file from Sailmail.. Understand most of the fleet have been motoring for the last two days. Whilst we have been on one port tack all that time.

WE shall be tacking in around one hour from now, and then expect to be on the same tack for the next 400nm………….

More anon when it is more conducive to creative writing…………………..
