Yes,

Spirit, Elsa Pia vs Erik and Robert (the autopilot) –how you calculate the girl power on Spirit is obvious on this crossing.

 

I remember one of the first days when Elsa had arrived to us, We were talking about this and that and I asked her what she will miss most of all being away for almost five weeks.The answer didn’t wait. It´s the 8 March, the International womens day!

Ok, that was a bit unexpected answer in my ears but I really liked it and the reason;

Elsa works in Moscow and in Russia the Womens Day is one of the most important day of the year, she told us. Everyone is celebrating this day. This is the perfect opportunity for men to show their love and appreciation to their wives, girlfriends, sisters, mothers, colleagues etc. Flowers and flowers and also (most of) the women don´t need to work. It´s a real holiday!

 

Wow I thought, that is cool! But let´s encourage Erik too do something here on Spirit for us...

We told Erik smoothly about this fantastic tradition, but when he realised that the barnacles would not do as flowers for us, he sort of gave up.

I think he plan to celebrate us when we arrives to Marquesas.

Spirit though, she got a lovely fresh-water rinse by Erik in the morning. That is love.

 

Nevertheless, we enjoyed a delicious dinner cooked by Elsa. Chicken pasta with garlic, cream, dijon, herbs some spices and our last fresh vegetables –the carrots. We let Robert be at helm to be together for our main cours (as so far every dinner on this leg!).

Sipping half glass of red wine and discussing life, this time what we most long for arriving in Iva Oa, Marquesas.

 

Elsa – a swim in the beautiful sea

Erik – a whole night of sleep in a “still” boat

Pia – silence from all waves flushing and also to walk or run on solid ground (writers privilege to choose two)

P.S Elsa also told us about the Men´s day, in February 22nd. Then also Russians are celebrating and mostly it seems to be about cooking good meat-courses for the men that are around.
