Considering the
perfect anchorage in this ideallic location, and the memory still fresh of the
long hard sail of yesterday, we decided to stay here another night and have a
beach BBQ. (Terry had this planned since Athens and various hunks of dead farm
animals, ready for sacrifice, had been transported here).
We moved to the other
side of the sand spit and anchored against the shore with stern lines tied to
rocks to hold us in position. An afternoon of swimming and lounging, then Kamel
and I went ashore and started preparing the fire for tonight's feast. I had
heard that dress was formal, or perhaps I hadn't but decided to confuse everyone
by using this as a good time to break out my timber tie. After eating and
drinking too much, most managed to make it back to the boats, except three of us
who'd found the natural hot-spring at the end of the beach and spent several
hours drinking and pruning in the jaccuzi.
