Land sighted just after sunrise. Been a while now, but still looks the
same.
Wind died on us through the night so have been motoring since 1am for an
arrival late morning. Lucian has found us a nice berth at the V&A Marina
in Cape Town, so expecting to be sitting in the nearest pub for steak
and beer at lunch time.
Yesterday was spent preparing for land interfacing - pumping up fenders
and the duck and shaving and washing (including the much missed hot
water shower). Robbo and Ryan spent almost all day variously fixing and
destroying the washing machine. It had never been quite right this trip
and had been leaking badly and shutting itself off from one of its
countless alarm conditions. It appears that the drum movement had worn a
hole in the water outlet channel. Currently it's in too many pieces to
recognise but Robbo is apparently hopeful it'll be functioning in time
for us to de-oceanise our clothing before we have to stand near regular
humans again???
