Arrived and dropped
anchor right on sunset last night. Choppy, windy, uncomfortable anchoring in
open sea!
Brief few exchanges
with pilot vessel to discover no pilot present, which doesn't look good for
getting up the river today. Possibly managed to convince them to send a pilot
down overnight ("we look after pilot"), but with neither of us speaking a common
language it's equally possible I just bought his brother. Will
call them again around 5am and see if we've had any luck.
Settled down to a
couple of arrival G&T's and an excellent, non-lap, bangers and mash cooked
by Rogerio who has significantly improved with the smell of land in the air and
a promise of sitting under a tree (the ulimate cure for seasickness) again very
soon.
Luke and I settle
into anchor watches and some general ship-shaping work
overnight.
Really hoping we're
not at anchor here for another 24 hrs!
