Clear skies,
slight swell and no wind for last 2 days.
Wed finally
had breakthrough with the fish - a large stripey tuna was landed after a lengthy
fight. supplied two steak meals plus plenty of sashimi. A medium size mahi mahi
unfortunately broke the trace while being lifted aboard, but Alfredo's first
fish so he enjoyed the fight regardless, and a marlin took the big lure and
after a couple of aerial displays managed to flick the hook
free.
Tracked along
with a small pod of large humpback whales for quite a while. Initially they
would dive out of the way before we got too close, then adjusted our technique
and vectored into them on a converging course then shut off the engines and
coasted to within 10 feet of them before they dived. Some terrific photos and
videos which bandwidth doesn't permit including here - will update when I return
to wifi range.
