Dong Hoi and Hue

The train from Ninh Binh to Dong Hoi worked out well. We
had booked the "soft seat" option. Although it was all very run down, it was a
comfortable 8 hr trip, through lovely countryside.
We took a taxi to The Sun Spa Resort, which was very
comfortable on the beach. The food was disappointing for a 4 star hotel. I had a
lovely massage and we relaxed.
We took the train again from there to Hue. We are now in
a lovely hotel on the river. We wandered around the Citadel and took a tricycle
ride around the sights. Today we visited a pagoda and three of the emperor's
tombs. It was hot for a change. We have been quite cold in the north. We have
three nights here; Hoi An is the next stop where Denise (our youngest) will join
us.
