This is a very disappointing message I’m sending. Last evening it become obvious that the keel was allowing sea water to penetrate the bolts and flood the bilge. This is a very dangerous situation. David contacted the US Coast Guard and they sent out a Orion search and rescue plane to speak to us over the radio. They were very helpful. We were joined this morning by the USCG Cutter ‘Charles Sexton’, who are standing by us as we return once again to Nanny Cay. David not surprisingly has decided to abandon the voyage and the whole crew will be returning to the UK in a few days time. Having gentle sails around the Solent seems the way forward.

The whole crew are completely shattered and are looking forward to a shower and a long sleep.
