Arrived in Slano this afternoon after 2 days in Dubrovnik. It’s a massive
bay and we are anchored all alone in a small inlet with only the fish for
company. Only a few houses about half a mile across the bay.
We did 2 days in Dubrovnik
and it was spectacular. Walked the walls and did all the touristy things,
museums and of course several drinks to quench our thirst. Also did the war
photo museum (which had 2009 Pakistan
picks as well as croatia)
which was very moving as it was all about the victims of war and how people as
displaced. Saw an exhibition on Giacometti and ate in a Bosnian styled restaurant.
Very sore feet after main miles and loads of steps going up and down.
I have sheared andy’s hair and he seems to be
pleased with it as we are still on speaking terms.
Andy has been trying to learn Croatia (a least more than the
standard Hello and thank you). He practices on shop staff (who speak good
English) so when they look confused as he gets it wrong he tells them what he
is trying to say (in English) then they teach him the correct pronunciation.
They seem quite happy to help him on his way!
Off to the island of Mljet tomorrow.
