I hoped to be at sea by now (Monday), but yesterday
the forecast showed too much wind today, so I am sat in
harbour.
I collected more forecasts and ice reports this
morning. Early tomorrow is now the
plan.
Sunrise is 5.22, then out to get
through the Greenland iceberg zone in daylight.
A very large British yacht was anchored
off the harhour this morning. But Qaqertoq is the largest town
in south Greenland:
If they cannot tie up even here, they must
miss all the smaller places which are always the most interesting.
I met the wife who was rushing round on a schedule
before they depart to another anchorage, to be safer if it does blow
hard. We are tied up to a small boat pontoon as so often, and I wander
round ashore as I want. She has 11 on board, usually 9 but two extra
friends at present. I hope 3 of the people on board are staff or it sounds
hard work.
Now I must dress for dinner: No, these
jeans will do for cooking in.
But standards do not really slip, I am playing the
CDs Lorna brought out to Iceland: Chopin, List and Sibelius.
Here you are: Another blue berg
