Here you are, as I am on wi-fi you can have lots of
pictures of St Peters, the little village at the south end of the Bras d'Or
lakes.
This is the opposite of Francois in
Newfoundland: A middle class residential area with supermarkets and
a noisy road running through the middle. It is very pretty with the
water, low wooded hills and a marina. Milly Brown on the left of this
early morning reflection.
The houses are all (nearly all) smart, bungalow
style (right) or more often 2 storey and decoratively detailed
(left). They are a far cry from the simple Francois fishermens'
houses that were respectable but not far from huts.
Another reflection, I like these, artistic
eh??
This shows what I assume is the Nova Scotia
flag: The yellow Scottish Royalist flag in the centre of the St
Andrew's cross, with the Canadian flag above it. This yacht (US as no flag?) passed us just before
we got to St Peters, but was one of only a couple we saw all day. Perhaps
it is too late in the season for more.
Not a good photo, but yes, this was a
deer browsing along the waterline.
Does it make up for the lack of birds?
You do not really want crows or seagulls
do you?
Finally here is a video put together by Helgur with
good shots of pilot whales (?) following the boat.
There are boat pictures of
the Iceland - Greenland crossing giving some idea of conditions, then
lots of random Greenland scenes.
The village with children and
the Norwegian canoeing expedition plus their support boat
was Aagpilagtog
The shots at the end are of the
airfield at Narssarssuaq where I left Helgur and Sigrit to go walking for a
while before they flew out.
With their kind permission.
