We came round to Vopnafjordur yesterday. The
morning was wet, motoring out round headlands and sailing when the wind was
not directly ahead. It was a cold with the wind still from the north and
snow close above. People laugh at me for not wearing socks when
sailing (they only get wet), yesterday it was socks, boots and gloves and
full ski gear under the waterproofs.
In the afteroon the sun came out giving magical
views of distant snow covered peaks, a little earlier and they could have
photographed, the closer and more dramatic ones had just disapeared behing a
headland when the sun arrived.
Here is one coming into Volnafjordur, they all
looked volcanic in this group.

but we are in harbour.
